BF Goodrich KO2 or KO3

My E rated set of KO2's has one starting to separate and it's formed a bulge on the inner face of the tread. Maybe 20K miles. Not under inflated or abused. Not impressed.

I like the looks of the KO3s. I went with Toyo Open Country AT3 Load E as my last set on a half ton Chevy and I pull a 3 horse trailer probably 25-30% of the time. Decent amount of Mountain rocky dirt roads. Just rotated those tires at 55K miles with 7-8/32 tread left. Very happy with the wear which was a good part of the reason I went with them BUT, I have been stuck in snow/ice under snow more than I care for and a couple were far less than ideal and almost really bad.

Looking at KO3s or possibly the Les Schwab Open Range for the next set. I don’t expect either to push 60K plus miles doing what I do but I need and want better snow performance without giving up too much stability and durability.

Other tire suggestions?

The KO3’s are definitely decent with snow/ice, nothing near a full on studded winter tire, but for an all terrain—pretty good.

^ my KO 2’s wore like iron and never had any issues whatsoever, both on a 3/4 ton Chevy and my current Tacoma—they may have changed something though???

^ what kind of life are you seeing w/ the KO3?

My KO2's lasted a very long time, the KO3's seem like they're wearing quicker, but maybe not???
I’m at 50k on my K03’s and they still look pretty good and work well, I will probably swap them out this fall at which point they should be near 60k. Mine are on a 4Runner that gets a lot of highway miles not heavy gravel, towing or anything.

You can’t really get long wear, good offroad & good ice traction.

Long wear requires hard rubber
Hard rubber doesn’t grip on ice well.
It’s trade offs or 2 sets of tires.

Ko3 is a decent balance

Unless I’m wrong Schwab tires are made by dean.
Lots issues. I’d only run them if I had too
