Guys,
Here is what occurred to me yesterday evening. I posted looking for a Swarovski ATS 65 spotter. He said he had one he would let go for $1700. I paid via PayPal Goods & Services (also noticed he just joined Rokslide in early Sept). Asked him to text me pics. He did. He then said his Paypal was "acting up" and said he was going to refund me and asked if we could use "other means of payment". Knowing I was in trouble at this point, I played along (to get my money back). He refunded then asked me to send money from a Bitcoin ATM machine.

I just looked on eBay and the exact same pics he texted me are on there from someone else selling the spotter. I have posted on Classifieds and also sent info to Admin.

His handle is Marcwyt207

His PayPal email is [email protected]
His cell is 323-515-7528

Really sad world we live in. These people need to get out of mommy’s basement and get a life. I don’t even go on a certain gun site anymore because of the high volume of scammers. I was looking for a citori and out of 8 people I messages, 6 were scammers. Thank you for the heads up

Lucky you used goods and services. That’s probably why he went that route. It’s amazing to me that people on here use friends and family so much. It’s “not allowed” in some forums and for good reason.

I actually saw a sign at a convenience store while in in Michigan for work last week advertising a bitcoin atm. I’d never heard of that but apparently it’s a thing. Maybe I’ll google it.

IMO if you choose to send F&F you incur the risk. 3% is a small price to pay for peace of mind on a $1300 transaction

Every person who sells or buys using Paypal signed an agreement with them. Every person who violates their policy does so at their own risk. With that being said, we are not staffed to monitor and enforce rules on every transaction. The classifieds are a free benifit for our members and a huge time suck for our staff as it is.
