Hi,
I am doing a Euro mount for the my first public land Mule Deer and want to hang it above the door of my cabin. I know it will take a beating in the elements, just wanted to see if anyone has had a good experience with any products to at least protect it a bit. I don't mind that it's going to fade/break down a bit with weather...just wanting to give it the longest life outdoors that I can. Was thinking of hitting it with some Krylon clear coat or the Krylon UV-resistant clear

Thanks.

The UV resistant stuff would be your best bet. If you can find somewhere to hang it out of direct sunlight it will last for years.

Depending on how much you care, you could ask your local auto body shop to spray it with some clear coat next time they have some in a spray gun. Auto paint is designed to hold up under severe UV exposure and would help seal the porous nature of the bone. I think auto paint would potentially last longer than rattle can paint?

Edit: If you were concerned with the "shine" you could take some fine steel wool to it afterwards.
