Best way to carry a bugle tube

What do you suggest? The cup holders, or finding a webbing nest on your pack somewhere?

I've used kifarus nalgene holder and the Phelps holder... Phelps works better.

I use a bugle tube holder made by “bendable products” strapped to my pack it works awesome.

For running and gunning, small paracord sling for cross body carry. With the cord under one of the load lifter straps and under same side shoulder.

Easy rotation from front of body for calling to rotated out of the way on the side.

I tied an improved clinch below the third rib on the handle section of a Phelps unrivaled tube. Tied the ends together and melted. So it’s essentially a single large loop that I wear like a cross body from one shoulder to above the opposite hip. Allows me to have it right in front of me when needed and kind of behind the right hip when I don’t. It’s a pretty slick setup.

I use the phelps bungee that came with it. Rotate off my right side and slide the small end behind the tension strap off the bottom of my bag to the waist belt on my kifaru pack.

Just a paracord loop attached to both ends of tube. I carry it on my left side snugged in against the front of my pack, large end up so I can just rotate it to use it. Take a couple of extra loops around the small end of the tube if needed to cinch it up tight so it doesn't rattle or come loose. I don't even know it's there.

Paracord sling. Or my most preferred method is to let the caller carry it however they want.

I want my bugle in a place and position where it's ready to use immediately. So I use the paracord sling around my neck with the tube under my right arm.

When I'm caller it's in my hands, when my Son is caller it's in his hands. Outside of that we carry them in the cylinder pouch on our left sides. We can easily pull it out for use by ourselves if needed but if not wanting to carry it the other one puts it back in the cylinder pouch. We've done this for 30 years.

Great thread! Has anyone tried pinning it between their pack and frame behind their head? I've always used paracord over the shoulder but can't stand it flopping around on my damn hip when moving.

if i'm calling, I have it slung, either under my arm or behind me it wedges up against my frame if i'm not calling a lot. when in transit I just shove it down the side of my compression straps on my pack. I got a smaller tube that I think will work better for me, I feel like the phelps tube is unnecessary.... they do sound good, but there are louder tubes, and I know enough to know it's not the authenticity of the sound as much as it is how you play the situation.... I also think louder is better, and the phelps isn't the loudest. I bought both Glen Berry tubes and will try both and decide which i'll pack... they both sound good, i'm hoping I can get away with the golden tone shorty, it's a sweet little tube, and sounds better to me than the little phelps…. it'll be much nicer to pack, but it depends on what one I like better in September.

I keep my Bendable holder on my right side. Hold my bow in my left hand. That way I can pull the bugle out or slide it back in easily.

Here is pic of my setup. You can see the holder. I was the caller for my buddy - I found a nice deadhead that day.
