My brother is building his dream .300wsm. I am buying him a Defiance AnTi XM action. We had a Proof Research stock in mind, but they are not shipping XM stocks until end of next year. I'm talking an ultralight mountain rifle: he doesn't need vertical grips, big forends, palm swells etc. I mean the lightest damn stocks he can slap on a gun. Who else makes an ultralight for an XM length action???

*Manners has pissed me off recently, by coming in heavy on two of my stocks, so I am hesitant to direct him there*

They do list the XM length stocks on their website?? But I've seen other stuff posted on their website that never existed so its possible they don't actually have any.

IMHO it might be worth the wait though, I have 2 builds with that stock - both with Defiance Rebel actions and really have come to like that stock a lot especially for a hunting rifle.

Mesa precision will do XM actions. They will weigh 24-26 ounces. I’m with you on Manners, every stock I’ve ever ordered from them has been a minimum 5 ounces over advertised weight.

They are all slated for rifle builds. Not shipping to distributors until end of next year. An upgrade option, but not going to help for next season.

My Anti XM is on an AG composites stock. Highly recommend. Call them.
That is a consideration. They are 4-5oz heavier than the Proof, though. Trying to do a 20oz or less. AG is my go-to. Some of the best finished stocks I have worked with. Plus they are fast and super helpful.

AG Composites makes Mesa (to Mesa's specs), so I am sure it is quality. Still a bit heavy, though. Manners came in 7oz heavy on two EH-5's. One was a lightweight mountain rifle build, so I was pissed! (Plus the mag well on one was terrible)

I did the XLR Magnesium 4.0 for my Lone Peak XM action. Fully done, it was 8 pounds 8.5 ounces.

Yep, I knew who made Mesa’s stocks. How light are you trying to go? I replaced the pad on the Mesa w a Hastings on my sheep rifle and was able to shave an additional 3.5 ounces. It came in pretty light w a 21 1/4” proof sendero lite. That’s scoped w 4 rounds in the mag box
