Second Rugged Radio but it’s just slightly different version of the Baofeng UV-5R we use them in race trucks down in Baja. Hunting wise UV-5R with upgraded antenna will give you everything you need
I got the Rugged Radio GMR2-Plus because the manual stated the weight of the radio with battery and antenna was only 3.74 oz, which seemed great. But when I weighed it, the weight was 8 oz. Not as heavy as the Rocky Talkie 5w radio (9.4 oz), but the stated weight was really off.
And for a little over an oz, I like the compactness of the Rockie Talkie. It also has a very sturdy clip attached to it. The Rugged Radio does have an integrated flashlight and FM radio, so some things the Rockie Talkie doesn’t. I’ll probably keep both and just play around with them, using them for different purposes, I guess.
