I’m in the market to get a new rifle and want to put a good scope that won’t break the bank! I’m not big into the rifle game but I want to know what most people would recommend for a budget friendly scope? I’m looking to try to get into long range shooting and I reload all my bullets! I want to get some ideas so I know where to look at!

"Budget" means different things to different people. Did you have a number in mind?

Depending on your needs, there are a few Vortex scopes that could be what you're looking for... I think the Diamondback Tactical series could fit the bill for you. I can't speak for or against SWFA

Hard to go wrong with the SWFA 3-15. Unfortunately it's back to normal pricing, but if you can wait until the next black friday they usually go on sale with a deep discount. The glass is very clear and the reticle, while not fancy is very usable. Only draw back with the SWFA 3-15 is that it doesn't have a lit reticle so dawn and dusk conditions can be tricky. Pros for not having a lit reticle is that the scope it pretty light for what it is.

Sorry, had another thought here. The Athlon series of scopes also have a great amount of features for the dollars spent. Depending on your budget you can get a very good (non-lit reticle) scope with turrets that have very precise turret tracking. I recommend the Athlon Midas tac or Ares for a little more money. The glass is superb and the most important part of the scope, arguably the turrets and tracking is close to tier one in quality.

Check reviews for those on Snipershide and you'll see that Athlon is very well regarded.

I've heard that the tax day sale is April 15 and think they also do a Father's Day sale.

This. The 3-9x42 is generally the unanimous pick for hunting, can be had for $450-$500 during their sales. Taken an elk at 423, and a few whitetails over 200, dialed for all, 9x at the top did not limit me and I think actually helps calm me as the sight image is more stable.
