What do guys like for good battery these days? Is Diehard still a good one? I had a Sears Diehard that was great but it 12 yrs old, need a new one. Needs to be for cd weather too.

I switched my trucks to AGM as the oem flooded lead-acid batteries were leaking.
Put WalMart Everstart Platinums in one truck, Odyssey Extremes in the other. So far both seem to be performing well, but the WalMart batteries are only 2 years old, the Odyssey 1 year old.

I've been using the extreme batteries from Batteries +. I have gotten good service out of them for the last 15 years, will usually last me 6-7 years of hard use. Not cheap but last.

I went down this rabbit hole 4.5 years ago and settled on the HEPPC65 Odyssey Extreme Series AGM Battery as the best available option for my F350. Its been to long for me to remember why exactly. They are still running strong today.

I would not put Oreily's Super Start Platinum AGM. 4yr warranty. Put a set in 2021, crapped out and warranty them in 2023, and crapped out again in 2025, but they wouldn't warranty them again since they already did once.

Looking into this as well, for the first time in awhile. I’ve gotten 7 years out of the Northstar 27F in my Tundra, but the tester shows it needs replacing. Looks like Northstar is now owned by Odyssey and is even more costly. Crazy prices.

Who else makes quality AGMs? And preferably offers Group 27F? It doesn’t appear to be a very common size.
