My son decided he wants to try archery hunting so with my bow season winding down I gifted him my bow for his birthday which puts me in the market for a new one. When do the next years greatest bows come out? I would like to try and find either a last years model left over a shop is wanting to discount or a lightly used one someone is upgrading. I’ve been shooting bowtech for nearly 20 years but I’m open to trying other manufacturers. Any advice on purchasing a new bow would be appreciated.

Talk to your local archery shop if you are interested in seeing the newest bows as early as possible. There are usually sales reps from different companies making the rounds with their offerings in late fall/early winter. You may be able to demo some! The new models tend to hit shelves in quantity February through late spring. October is a pretty good time to be looking at last years models and older as dealers are looking to clear space and gain capital towards their bit ATA orders. Happy shopping and enjoy finding what fits you and your preferences the best.

I agree around February is a good time to start looking. New bows will be rolling into the shops. So you can shoot the new "lastest and greatest" and also find the years previous models on the shelf and they are wanting to clear those out.
