Hey guys I’m not sure if I need a 20 MOA pic rail or not, just a preface.

I just picked up a Burris FFIV 2.5-10x42 with 1” objective for a great price (have to do this in a budget).

The Sportsmatch are out of stock, so those are off the table plus I need a rail for eye relief anyways.

Any recommendations for rail and rings? Do I need a recoil lug or 20 MOA? Trying my best here without spending too much

I’d pick up a pair of Unknown Munitions medium or high direct mount tikka rings and be done with it. Those will solve your geometry problems, eliminate an interface that could fail, and do contain a recoil lug.

I have a adm recon qd mount that I put a vortex 4-16 in. I have pic rails on most of my regular use rifles so I can just move scopes around. I did have to buy the pic for my t3x varmit, but my upr came with it. 20moa bases are only necessary if your planning on exceeding the moa travel in your scope. Most are quite generous already. FYI the 6.5 cm 140 eldm factory load uses 20 moa at 770 yds.

Area419 rails are nice. Given you want more flexible mounting, I would avoid a rail without center lugs.

Only the front ring has limited mounting options on the native dovetail due to the recoil pin on Sportsmatch and I doubt it will be too far back, you can put the rear ring where ever you need. UM rings can be done similarly and will likely be cheaper than a rail and rings.
