Pick a state, or two. Go to the states fish and game website/s. Pick a zone. Jump on Google Earth, OnX, GoHunt, etc and research the chosen area. Get tag and go hunt.

It seems daunting at first but you'll find it is the same as hunting your home state, just a lot further away. You still need to scout, get boots on the ground to learn the area, and hunt your butt off. Good luck!

Thanks for the input. Sounds like good advice. If you only had one State to choose, where would it be?

In order. Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Washington, and finally Oregon. I bet no one can guess where I live.

First, choose what is most important to you.
1. if cost just find out which state is cheapest
2. If time, just choose the state that is closest
3. If you “just want a good experience” get a map and throw a dart at it
4. If harvest odds, don’t go, save your $$ and go with an outfitter on private
