Best shooting ranges by State

I just use my land as my range, here in Michgan not heard of many over maybe 150 yards though. My longest shot maybe 120 yards most of my hunting is 85 to 100 yards. Few ranges offer any "long" range distances.
Plus for me no Fees and others to deal with checking targets. (but the cost of gas to get there 225 miles) so that might the "fee" cost? Which is okay at least for me.
Not read any post about Michigan in this thread yet.

OKC Gun Club (not actually in Oklahoma City).

You name it, they've got it.

My dad competed in high power rifle and bullseye pistol. He was an original member when the club started so I've always been a member. I don't shoot there much except to verify zero on my rifle for the occasional gun elk hunt. When my grandson visits he likes to go.
Some of my favorite childhood memories were going to the club when the National Guard guys would bring dynamite to blow rock out for building/expanding the shooting berms. I also worked the pit and pulled and marked targets on the high power range.
Growing up it seemed like it took forever to drive there, maybe 30 miles of country roads. Now I live less than 10 min away.

Northern Colorado - Estes Park Gun & Archery Club (private), about 10 min east of Estes. 100 yd paper range, 25 yd pistol paper & steel range, archery range & 3d targets and most importantly rifle range with steel to 400 running up into the hill in a draw. Also theres an indoor range in town for pistol but I've never been.

What kinda hoops do they make you jump through?
Attend 3 Monthly meetings (2+ hrs long, hr drive 1 way for me to get there), get a member to sponsor you, Do a guided range tour. Initial membership fee is pretty healthy. Then, if you forget to renew before Jan 1st, you have to do all that shit again and pay the healthy first time fee again. I forgot to renew timely one year and wasn't about to burn 16+ hrs and pay the fee again when i only went there a few times a year.

I can’t speak to all the private ranges but the best public range in Nebraska is the Heartland Shooting Park in Grand Island.

Frontier Sportsman's Club (private)
Colorado Springs

Membership has access to two ranges:

Range #1: 100, 200, 300yd rifle; 7.5, 10, 15, 25, 50yd shorter range; shotgun and archery
Range #2: 24/7 shooting access, 100, 200, 300yd ranges; 1000yd rifle range with targets at 100 yard intervals starting at 300 yards; 7.5, 10 and 15yd pistol; informal pit for moving & shooting; shotgun range

Membership was up to 3 years at one point, but now I think it's same year.

(I don't claim it's the best in CO as I haven't tried many, but I like it)

Central Mississippi-Gunline Shooting Range.

Private Range. Pistol range, 100yd site in range, Rimfire range, 300/600/700/1000 range, movers, positional shooting at most ranges. They have a ton of PRS and rimfire competitions of every variation. Host classes for a myriad of hunting and shooting situations. Most members are really friendly and extremely helpful. Tim, who runs the range is a wealth of knowledge and doesn't mind taking the time to show and explain everything.

Rock Lake Rifle Range in St. John, WA. Private but the fees are extremely reasonable for the year. Steel goes out to a mile and the range is setup where you can shoot from many locations/angles with plenty of props. Open year round minus a handful of days for farming.

I don't know about the best, but I really enjoyed shooting at the CPW range in Salida.

We've got nothing like that around here.

Probably the best range I’ve been to is Rock Lake in Eastern Washington. I’ve been a member there for a few years and absolutely love it.

They have a mile range! I might have to join for 6 months to go try my hand at that distance. Problem is it is 6 hours away from me. ☹️

Red castle in Oklahoma

Snowshoe in Alaska

Both private, snowshoe has a 1000 yard range with a shooting house that has a wood stove in it. Wood provided!
