Colorado : My pick is

Cameo Shooting and Education Complex

Here on the western slope you can go out on BLM land and shoot about any place. This is state run range with range officers. Safety is 1st. The Range has sporting clay, archery 3d,hand gun, two 100 yard ranges and one 200 yard range for sight in and a Long range precision with targets 100 yards out to 2000 yards. Non-Controlled BLM public range not far from here, but can be dangerous .

This is the range I shoot at in middle TN...

I agree with you and have a season pass to Cameo. The 3-D archery ranges are awesome! I live at the top of the EOM Hill behind Talbott's

There's only a handful of private ranges in minnesota that are even on par or better than some of the standard CPW ranges in Colorado. And I'd rather go to the CPW ranges than the 1000 yd range in MN that was a PITA to gain membership to.

Me too. :)

ETA: But I can shoot to 500 yards here at the house. So we rarely go to the range. We just shoot at home. On cold/rainy days I can shoot to 225 from my (heated) barn window.

No reason for me to go to a range, as I have steel to a mile at home.....

Y'all are very lucky. If I want to shoot past 100 yards I have to go about an hour and a half in South Carolina.

Illinois: Aurora Sportsman’s club is definitely a top all around option. The ability to shoot out to 600 yards. North of 20 assorted pistol/rifle bays, sporting clays, trap, skeet archery etc.

Tennessee: Strategic edge as already mentioned is a fantastic rifle range and the pistol bays are quite good as well.

Nashville gun club is a great shotgun sports complex as well with 3 sporting clays courses and 20ish trap/skeet fields.

Kansas: Great Plains Precision (currently closed, hopefully temporarily) but a very PRS centric range that has some minor issues with the neighbors.

I’m blessed to have a handgun and 100
Yard range here on my home property. 5 miles from my house I have a 1000 yard private range. There’s a public range that requires a membership about 10 miles away. Can shoot to 400 there. It’s decent especially since the fee is cheap.

The farther east of the Mississippi River one goes, the tougher it gets. By the time one gets to the East Coast, even 500 yards is hard to find, 1,000 a true rarity, and a mile? Forget it. And if you do find something, be ready to pay those private shooting club dues. Just not enough open land.

Only a handful of places for a mile in the entire state of NC. And yes you’ll pay the private membership prices. I am blessed to have a place I can shoot out to 1300 privately 7 days a week
