best run n gun lock-on

looking for opinions on best lock on for mobile hunting. I run lock ons on my pieces of private but for that I buy the biggest and most comfortable. I'm looking for lightest and easiest for my out of state public land trips. Im a saddle hunter and I really do enjoy my saddle but would like to have the option of both for those long trips/days. lone wolf? hawk? xop? millennium?

I love my xop’s. Ive ised them three or 4 years now. i got the big one and the little one, i mostly use the big one though. the small weight dofference really doesnt matter to me. Just got there quick connect bracket to, it seems pretty slick messing around with it in the yard on the ground but due to some unrelated issues i cant truely test it up in a tree.
There might be lighter options but realisticly does it matter if it ways 10 lbs or 6lbs whenyour going to spend long hours in it. Thats just me though maybe.

I looked into xop and liked what read and saw. is it noisy when hanging? and does the quick connect make more noise?

Like i said i only tried on the ground so everythings easier, but of your careful sliding it in id have to think you should be quieter, cause now your eliminating the metal buckle part of the strap maybe banging off the stand and making the loud clank. Cause one hand has to hold the stand and one has to do all the straping.
id think eliminating the whole holding the stand while you strap it part will make everything easier and quiter as long as your carful sliding it in

If you go that route though id still consider running both straps. It seemed like the bottom didnt lock in as nice if you only strap the top like there video showed.
Or running the strap on the bottom hook locked it in real good. But thats your call.

I use my saddle with a .5 LWCG and like it. Weighs not much more than a platform and I can sit, stand, lean.

I have the XOP and millenium M60U. Comfort factor - millenium. Size factor, XOP.

If you do get the XOP, I would definitely recommend a seat upgrade - the Slumpers are nice.

The quick connect bracket is a must for me. Pull cord on stand climb up with sticks set bracket pull stand up to you and your done

If you do the XOP, two straps are definitely a must. You can get by with one on the millenium.

Lone Wolf Custom Gear is the best, and it’s priced accordingly.

Beast stands are nice as well, but as far as the entire system goes; LWCG has it figured out.

I’d go novix (original Lonewolf) over xop. XOP has continued to have serious QC issues over the years.

I have one of everything mentioned above except the XOP. I really like the LW assault model. Its my current mobile setup and it has all the adjustability to sit flat on almost any tree. There is a clear advantage in the cast platforms compared to the steel/aluminum with sound in my opinion. I do see XOP go on sale on occasion. Not sure if LW ever does. XOP had supply chain issues when i purchased a couple years ago and LW was in stock.

If you can’t do lwcg, go novix or used. Xop is barley a passing grade.

i have a lw assalt2, xop vanish evolution as well as an air raid, and a new novix helo. I mainly hunt with a saddle now, but there are a few setups I scouted this year that just set up better for a stand, so I get your desire for both.

Lwcg 0.5 is kind of like a big saddle platform that you can sit in. Way pricey, but very light. a buddy has one and loves it, he uses it like a saddle about 80% of the time, its pretty darn small if you want to sit it in much, especially if you are tall.

i have not checked out the new beast stand. Word is its very light, its pretty narrow but has a slightly longer platform than some of the other ultralights. I think that would make sitting easier ont he legs.

of the stands I own, the novix helo is smaller and lighter than both the assault and the vanish. Ive pretty much relegated the lone wolf and xop stands to pre-hung sets and use only the novix for hang and hunt now. Its also a narrower platform, which to me is good as its the only one I can get my 20” sticks to sit on low & horizontally for carrying, and it is the easiest of the bunch to wear through brush with minimum snagging and noise. I have seen a few people say the seat is too big. Its a full sized seat, so this could be a valid criticism. Note that it comes unpainted so youll need to rattle can it to get a low glare finish.
