Best rest? Vapor trail vs qad?

Looking at rest options and trying to decide what’s best. I’ve used both qad hdx and a vapor trail 8x. I like that the qad keeps the arrow in a smaller circle than the VP, but in a stand situation this doesn’t matter much, and any videos I’ve seen of spot/stalk they don’t nock an arrow until they are nearly done moving into position anyways.

The issue I had with my VP on my lift was it was an integrate rest made specifically for this manufacturer and yet it still ran out of side to side adjustment from hitting the cable roller. Has anyone else run into that issue? What do you guys use and why?

For myself, I find I generally need my rest pretty close to the riser on a hunting bow. Its just where it torque tunes. Out of any of the integrated options I know of, the qad gets the closest to the riser.

If you are bow hunting in cold weather, like single digits, or mid teens and lower, the qad would be the last I recommend. They slow down in those temps. I'd look at Hamskea or Vapor Trail for that.

If you are using a deflex bow riser, in my experience the rest can sit further back, lot of the newer hunting bows are reflex (limb pivot infront of the grip).

So I think there's several factors to determine a best rest. Conditions you will shoot in, type of bow, and how you hunt.

I shoot both. Both work well, the Vaportrail is the more reliable one if hunting in adverse conditions due to it being limb driven but I have used QADs since 2015 without fail, in my opinion it is personal preference and you can't go wrong with either one.
