Does anyone have any experience with any online hunters ed classes? Any suggestions?

I started the NRA one last night for my own amusement as it was free and I wanted to see if it was good.
I got a buddy who I’m gonna take hunting in November. It will be his first time hunting and first time wilderness camping and he’ll need a hunter ed class to get a license in Arkansas.

A lot of the west uses the same company. You can try Alberta if you want something different. And it did not require a field day.

Texas has an online only (no field day) version for adults. I believe that Arizona also has one but the cost is $300.00 to $400.00

Arkansas has a deferred option where a person doesn’t need it if they have someone with them who has it. But I’d rather train them and set them free.

Thanks for the options

Both my kids took the one offered by NM. It’s only about $40.00 no field day. They have a long version and short version. The long version gets very repetitive, 10 question test at the end of each section with a 60 question test at the end. Pretty simple and can be done in a day but it’s a long day. 🤣

As referenced above, if you want it in a hurry, don’t forget to check and see if a field day required. NM didn’t have a field day requirement a couple years ago.

It’s for Arkansas. They even accept other states according to their website

Just make sure whatever course you take is IHEA-approved. I own www.recademics.com (one of the IHEA-approved online courses), we're 100% US-based, and hunt our tails off. We built the course off real-life video and incident reports. Cert is recognized in all 50 states through IHEA reciprocity.

You can check this tool out, too: onlinehuntereducation.com/quiz/. Tells you exactly what your state requires — whether you can go fully online, need a field day, minimum age, costs, etc. Takes about 30 seconds. There's a 50-state comparison table at onlinehuntereducation.com/compare too if you hunt in multiple states.
