Best "old" 4x4 truck for hunting? $5k range.

I bought a higher-miled 2016 Chevy 2500 6.0 gasser for $6600 at a Richie Bros auction last year. It's been a great purchase for me!

I was going to suggest something along these lines. 2008-2012 2500s with the 6.0 were a really good pickup.

I even like the color. Find a $100 cap and a sleeping bag at Walmart and I’d be set for trip home.

Probably take me a month but no doubt I would get there.

If this was the body style on either side of this one. I'd probly own it

The 5.0 in it's day with the automatic tranny was a very good rig for pulling a horse trailer. Looks like you may have found a winner.

If you can find a 1500 HD or 2500 HD with the 6.0 and 4:10 gears. it's literally indestructible. The 6.0 and 4L80E is a match made in heaven.....don't make them like that anymore.

It takes me 3-9 months to buy a used car. The right combination of condition, miles, pride of ownership and equipment is not on every street corner. But my Grand Cherokee, a 99, I've had for 15 years in September and the 2003 Lexus 7 years in October with minimal repair costs. So, that's one way of saying that finding the right used rig should take a while.
