Hello so I have searched on here and can’t find much info on my exact question. I am looking for a new pan head for my tri pod. It will be holding up a 85mm spotter and needs to be light weight and Arca Swiss compatible. I like the berno s2 and the reviews it’s got but I don’t believe it’s Arca Swiss

I am looking at that one currently but it does weigh close to 1.4 lb so hoping there was a lighter option available

The Promaster SPCH20 is awesome. Arca Swiss, only 14 ounces and has a 1 year no fault warranty that we upgrade for forum member to lifetime.Plus it holds a few more ounces then the VA5. Normally $89.99, would be $69.99

Let me know what you find. We test them all! Any time something new comes out, we test it! The S2 is not arca swiss, and while i love the performance, i generally recommend the Sirui VA-5. It's the same weight as the Benro, but more durable, and because it's got a spring loaded counter balance, it will perform better with your 85mm spotter. If there was a better option than these two, we'd carry it. The outdoorsmans has a great head as well, just tough to justify the cost.

Thanks for the reply Rob, Have you tested out the pro master spch20 head that camera land is suggesting? Specs look good but it does look like a tall head

The specs on the SPCH20 is Height 3 15/16", weight is 14.25 ounces, max load is rated at 6 lbs 9 ounces, though I have customers that have put much more weight on this and the VA5 with no issues.
Both are fantastic heads and at less then half the price of the VA5 the Promaster is a great option.
Feel free to contact me with any questions

Yea, we tested it. We were excited because the specs looked great, but after about 10 min with it, we decided it wasn't something we wanted to sell.

Guys,
We have sold well over 50 of the ProMaster Specialist Series SPCH20 Cine Head #2435 to members here with great feedback. In it's price range it is a best buy item.

If some of you who have been using this head would be so kind as to chime in on this thread with some feedback I am sure the members here would appreciate it.

As the only authorized Promaster dealer here on RokSlide we stand behind every Promaster product with a lifetime replacement warranty.
Whether you choose to purchase a Promaster tripod or head from us, or any other authorized Promaster dealer, you can find authorized Promaster dealers listed here their products are most definitely worth a look.

The ProMaster SPCH20 Cine Head is a small but mighty head designed for use with mirrorless and DSLR cameras shooting video or still photos. It provides smooth tilt / pan movements and features a cushiioned handle which can be reversed for right-hand or left-hand use. Its sliding quick relelase plate lets you balance your camera properly and has a scale for quick, repeatable use. The dovetail design of the quick release plate is comatible with a variety of other ProMaster accessories as well as many industry standard items. The mult-position quick release receiver at the top of the head can be set up in various orientations for front-to-back QR plate mounting or side-to-side. Red touch points quickly identify the controls of this head. A separate panning control knob helps you achieve smooth, even pans and a marked scale at the panning base shows precise movemement.

Many telephoto lenses with dovetail style (arca-swiss compatible) tripod collars work extremely well with the SPCH20 head in achieving excellent, smooth tracking of animals for wildlife photography too.

This is relevant to my needs! I'll be in touch with Joel and Doug to sort out an option. They set me up perfectly with a tripod last year for an antelope hunt in WY.
