What are the best, lightest 30 degree bags out there? I’m new into the backpacking game and am wanting to know what to look at.

Probably the WM Megalite at 1lb 8oz, I just bought a Patagonia 30 Down on clearance, I think it is 6oz heavier than the WM, but it has 3oz more down and was quite a bit cheaper.

Best? How much do you want to spend?? Can’t go wrong with WM or FF. I really like REI Magma 15 and 30 for the money. Med Magma 30 1 lb 8 oz.

I would prefer under $400 and under 1.5 lbs. I want full down. I am not sure if that is doable. Also am looking into sleeping pads.

I've been looking into backpacking quilts, which is a new concept for me. Some of the reviews have recommended the Enigma that Cannonball linked, among others. I found the info put out by Exo's podcast and Experience Project website to be especially helpful. The Hunt Backcountry Podcast 130 was full of good info.

For what its worth, I've used Feathered Friends bags for a long time. My 20 degree bag is still in rotation, though a little less warm, than it was when I bought it 25 years ago. High cost, but very high value. Getting a little chilly when it gets below freezing is my motivation for diving into the new quilts, etc.
