Hello,
I looked to see if this was already out there but didn't see it.
Through my work I have a good discount through Klymit but it expires next month. I want to make sure I get something that's going to keep me comfortable on the mountain.
If you have some knowledge of their pads or a favorite please let me know your experience.
I have looked at the insulated static V luxe SL and klymaloft. They both seem great but for different reasons. My hunts are generally in September and October. So I don't need to be extremely warm.
Thanks for any responses.

I have the Insulated Static V Lite and the Static V Luxe, which is uninsulated.

I prefer the Luxe because it's bigger, but it's also heavy enough that I only use it car camping, and only in warm weather because it's uninsulated.

For hiking in and camping, I carry the Static V Lite. It's not especially warm when temps get to around freezing, and it's a little narrow for me at times. I've read on here that this style of Klymit pad is designed so that the bottom of your sleeping bag fills in the grooves between the air chambers. I've always used mine with a quilt, and I'd say that statement has some truth to it, and explains why it's not cozy when temps drop. If you're using a bag, I think you'd be good with this pad.

Both have been durable, both are easy to inflate and deflate, and are reasonably comfortable. I'd really like to get one of the Klymaloft pads for car camping, but no way I'd carry it backpacking. I think even the regular size is closing in on 3 pounds.

Last year I used the Insulated Static V Luxe SL. It's about a pound heavier than my thermarest neo lite, but worth it for the size and comfort! I'm also 6' 3" so needed the extra room. I'll be keeping the klymit in my pack again this year.

FYI: Klymit over inflates their R-value ratings. I too went with Klymit Insulated pad (can't rember the name but its there "warmest" one) as I had access to the discount. I have a Nemo Disco 15 degree bag (650 fill down) and when temps were in the 30's, I would end up freezing and this is while wearing all my clothes.

Said F-that and went with the Nemo Tensor and the difference is incredible. Tempatures in the low teens and when wearing my kit in my bag, I am perfectly fine. Do yourself a favor and look at someone other than Klymit. I went down this road and you will be happier if you avoid Klymit all together.

We'll see what the R value ratings are once all their pads get tested over the next few months. There were a LOT of manufacturer's pads that took R rating hits once the new standard came out. I've never had an issue with my Klymit pads, I take the appropriate pad for the conditions I'm expecting. To say that their R value ratings are overinflated is pure speculation until the pads are actually tested. I've heard guys complaining about sleeping cold on Thermarest, Sea to Summit, Nemo, and Exped pads as well. Pad is just one part of the equation.

I use the insulated Luxe on my late September and October backpack hunts. Love the size and comfort. Been comfortable down into the 20s with a good bag. Extra comfort is worth the weight penalty for me.

I have the Insulated static v lux. I'm a side/stomach sleeper so the extra length and width are great. It may not be the lightest pad out there but it has kept me plenty warm with a 20 degree bag down into the high teens.

I guess we'll see if they ever test and update to the new standard. Thermarest, Sea to Summit, REI, Nemo, Exped, Big Agnes have all tested and updated their ratings to the ASTM standard in January 2020. Klymit is still hasn't tested theirs? Almost a year and a half later?

I used Thermarest self-inflating pads for many years. Last year I bought a Klymit Insulated static V and it works well for me. I often carry a a RidgeRest closed cell pad to lay under the Kylmit. It provides a little more comfort and insulation. I have never had a leak in the Klymit but am prepared.

And they have made it known that their pads are going to be tested to the new standard. With their design on the baffles I am expecting to see some variance across the board. There were a bunch of pads that got exposed with R values when they started the new standard. Straight from Klymit's website.

What is the new ASTM standard?
The ASTM standard introduces a new test for R-value measurement that is being adopted by the camping industry.
In an effort to conform to the new ASTM industry standard while not confusing the current Klymit customer base, Klymit is listing both historical R-values and ASTM R-values on our website and packaging. ASTM R-values will be listed once the pad has been tested.

I have an insulated and uninsulated static v. I have used them both for years, waiting for them to fail so I could invest in a better pad, but they simply never fail. I am even extra hard on them thinking subconsciously that if it leaks or breaks I will buy a really nice high end pad, but alas, I am still carrying the klymit LOL

I dont think they are uncomfortable, my main gripe with them is to deflate them and get them back into their stuff sack, requires a bit of patience....

I have the regular Static V and also the Insulated Static V Luxe. No brainer for me that the Luxe wins out due to the size...the regular one allows my elbows to hang off the side of the pad and it drives me crazy. The Luxe is wide enough for full coverage and I find it quite comfy.

Has anyone used the Klymaloft pad, with the foam on top? Curious if it is worth the extra 8oz for the extra comfort.
