I've seen quite a bit of discussion on this but I didn't know if anything is the new hot thing that doesn't break the bank?
I got drawn for IA this year and I need to be able to pack my setup way further than I currently do.
Been looking at used frames
Military frames
XOP systems
TX5 systems (seem to have been bought out)
kUIU
Kifaru
EXO

What exactly are you asking? Using a comfortable frame pack is certainly going to help you be able to pack farther.

Latitude Outdoors has a pretty solid treestand suspension system. They are the ones who purchased TX5.

Nested treestands has a unique system, but you have to use their treestand.

Do you have a good backpack already?

I was looking at the tx5 clone . Even had in my cart but some of the new reviews say when it changed hands they use more firm foam and not nearly as comfortable as they were before the buyout.

Didn't see you other question. I don't have a backpack now.
Wish I could find a good used pack and frame like the KUIU or similar combo.
May have to wait and see on classifieds here when I finally get out of jail

What hang-on/system do you currently use?

Some make decent frames with good shoulder straps and a waist belt.

I've used a lot of different frames to carry lockon/climber/platforms: Eberlestock's F1 Mainframe, Modframe, Bullpacs, and MR Popup 28. They all work and all have pro/cons.

With larger lockon's and climbers, the Mainframe and Modframe (limited time with this one) work really well. There's just so many ways to attach and load them. Lots of options to integrate a bag as well.

With smaller lockon's and platforms I'm using the Popup 28.

I use the TX5 and like it a lot. It's comfortable and I like that the belt is super simple to throw on or take off depending on what I'm going to be doing with it. If I'm going in a ways and I'm planning on packing one out I'll throw the belt on. If I'm not going as far and won't be quartering and packing I like not having it on. I don't think I would like using a frame pack. Having my whole EXO setup seems like it would just be too much shit up in the tree with me
