Best high end/high output headlamp?

Its surprising how many factors there are. I did a comparison of a bunch of the best ones- here, "Happy headlamp to me"...it might help you decide.

I ended up with a couple favorites in Fenix and Zebra

..

Seriously check our Nitecores headlamps.
I’m really impressed by my NU25. 32 grams with a shock cord/toggle strap at 350 lumens and rechargeable. Have I mentioned it’s low cost

Fenix HL60 rechargeable puts out just under 1,000 lumens on its highest setting and is really comfortable on my head. It adjust smoothly, doesn't use a rear battery pack, but still lights up the mountain..... recharges via mini usb which is convenient if you are an older android phone user.

The Lupine Betty is a bit overkill for a head lamp. If you are into 24 hour mtn bike races it is the cats meow. If you want the best headlamp I’d vote for the Lupine Neo, but it is also a bit much for ‘just’ a headlamp. If you ride mtn bikes at night it is a great choice. Even better would be the Piko 4

I really like my black diamond revolt.

zebra is my fav, I have a BD that is decent but my strongest memory of it is trying to replace the batteries in it on horseback in the dark... maybe I shoulda stopped

Same here, Fenix and Zebra although I've had one Zebra lemon

I've got a Fenix HL60R which I really like, but it's never going on a hunting trip involving a backpack. It feels like a brick on my head compared to lighter weight units with equal output.

Laugh but I've had one of those cheesy Amazon straight from China units. Fell in creeks used 100 days a year. Had it since 2012. Still kicking and will hit the woods with me this fall

Just picked up a black diamond spot today. Due to weight.

Zebralights are my favorite. The armytek wizard/elf/tiara is another solid option. If on a budget I recommend skilhunt H03. They have a couple different versions. One has a flip down diffuser so you can get more throw vs flood. An H03 has been my EDC for a couple years now. Another budget that gets really good reviews is the wowtac A2/A2s. I strongly recommend using 18650 battery powered headlamps. Also the armytek headband is the best.

Cant go wrong with black diamond I have the cosmos or the storm either not too expensive and plenty of features

I run a Zebra. Over 1000 lumens when I need it and multiple levels of brightness when I dont. Only drawback is no red/green function.

90% of my coworkers in aircraft maintenance are running zebra lights, and we use them everyday. 18650 rechargeable is very bright. Run time of probably 8ish hours at full brightness if I had to guess. Hardly ever use that brightness setting as it’s blinding when working within an arms length away. I prefer the AA zebra, so small and light it’s almost unnoticeable when wearing. Coast has some good cheaper headlamps as well the model that can focus the beam is the one I preferred, Ive had 5 of em. Probably went through one every 6-8 months. Than bought my zebra a couple years ago. It’s been dropped, soaked in oil/hydraulic fluid, and abused daily. The headband stretched out and became too loose a couple weeks back, got a new one for less than $10. I won’t buy another brand. I’d advise you to steer away from a headlamp with plastic parts regardless of which you decide on.

Check this one out, It is by far the brightest I have used and it is rechargeable. https://www.batteryjunction.com/jet...40n6kSrbN1IpL9DqB668ihauZk2ORsTQaAmAlEALw_wcB
NiteCore makes a model HC60....looks just like this one. Rated at 900 lumens, runs on one 18650 and has good run times. I've been using one hard for over 3 years on issue. Really like the rechargable 18650's and it's easy to carry extra batteries. The HC 60 is micro USB to USB rechargable as well.
