the fullfeild is as good as most reviews claim. Today I saw the new models that has been introduced at the shot show. I haven't held or looked through any fullfeild as of yet.
Are you familiar with the gen 1 Vortex viper pst 2.5x10x44 illuminated that Opticsplanet has available. Red good things about it , haven't seen one. Seems like alit going for it for 349.00
I wish I new more about it or someone here could talk me out of it. I like so many of the options mentioned on this thread.

I've never seen a cheap lighted reticle that didn’t wash out bad.

Meosport R reticle turns down to extremely dim.

Just ordered my 3rd Meopta.
As mentioned, Burris FFII or Signature HD is, in my experience, the best glass going in the value category.

You might consider Trijicon Huron... You need to see if the higher magnification eye box is a problem or not with that recoil

I agree with the buy once cry once I think if this is going to be a dedicated western big game rifle. Save up some more money and buy something on the higher end ~$1000 and has a good warranty/customer service.

Also recommend not going cheap on rings.

Buy a burris Fullfield 2 3x9x40 with the balistic plex reticle. Basic ,reliable and holds zero.

This scope had been discontinued. When did they start making them again?
