I am looking for the best motor vehicle use forest service map and wondering which one of the options that you guys have had good luck with. Ive been on the USDA Forest Service website and want to make sure I pick the most current option that will give me the info I need to make it back to where I want to get!

I am planning on White River National Forest Colorado

Thanks in advance!

It looks like the WRNF has a nice, big foldout map for the whole Forest. It's plastic, much nicer and more durable than the old paper ones we had when I worked at the USFS. Check out this link.

You could also call the Forest Supervisor's office in Glennwood Springs, or the District Ranger's office for the District in which you intend to hunt, and ask if they have a "Travel Management Plan" (or something like that) map. I see the WRNF has downloadable maps, but that may be a hassle if you don't have a large format printer.

Hope this helps.

The plastic waterproof maps are really nice. White river does have a Motor Vehicle Use map. I think they produce a new one every 4 years. Last time I looked you could view it online but they wouldn’t send you one, they’re free in most of the gas stations and sporting stores in the area if you can snag one before everyone else does.
