Best 6cm 1-7.5 bullet options

Just rebarreled a 6.5cm Proof MTR with a 20” 1-7.5 Snowy Mtn 6cm prefit

In paralysis on which bullet I want to start load dev with

108eldm seems to the general consensus but does have noted expansion inconsistencies due to the high BC design focus.

109 LRHT seems to be a decent choice outside of people noting you have to open up the meplats for reliable expansion

107 TMK is a crowd favorite and my current number 1

112 MB / 116 DTAC both interest me but I know very little about them.

I’ve read most threads regarding 6cm options and am just curious of any suggestions as of 2026, possibly even regarding some of the new HEAVY 6mm options.

Your twist should run the 116gr TMKs. There are some threads here about their [limited-use] performance.

I picked the 116 tmk, 107 would be my next choice, then 108 eldm.

I wouldn’t even consider anything else other than the tmks if I reloaded. 116 tmk is what I would pick. If too much meat damage for your liking drop down to the 107.

108 ELDm is not a particularly aggressive design for BC, it’s just that the plastic tip is smaller than say a 107tmk. 109 ELDm illustrates this as it’s a decent bump in BC.

Hard to start outside of 107 or 116 tmk. I’d start with 116 if wanting more penetration and 107 if wanting flatter. Probably close to a wash on windage.

From what I gathered on the testing heavy 6mm thread I should expect to push the 116’s around 2825 out of my 20”, conservatively - given that and my DA this is easily a 900 yard gun. 116’s it is.
