Well I am thinking of making things a little simpler and moving into just 3 guns. One for plinking/coyotes, one for big game, one for the bench/long range. I just have too many just sitting there not ever getting use. So if you had to narrow it down to just 3 which would you have.
I am thinking 223/204 (volume, cheap, accuarte) will work on coyotes and smaller, 30-06/300win mag for big game and a 6.5/308 for the bench. It would cut down on a lot of powders and bullets that I have just laying around. I love guns but hate spending the money and then not really using them much.

6mm Remington - coyotes, deer, antelope

280 AI - Long range shooting, elk, deer, antelope, bears, moose.

30-06 - All big game - North America

A good fast twist 223 can serve as your varmint and target rifle. Ammo is cheap and barrel life is long. I regularly shoot mine to 800 and beyond. You’ll learn a lot shooting a 223 at distance in the wind.
6.5 Creedmoor for longer range and medium game.
I would opt for a heavy hitter for my big rifle. 338 if you plan to only hunt in NA. 375 if you ever want to go to Africa.

I use the following 3 cartridges now and they serve me for everything I need (other than pistols and shotguns of course).

.22-250
.260
.300 RUM

.223 AI Sporter contour, Mcmillan MR

.243 ADL in a B&C Ti

Kimber Montana in 7 SUAM

Those are my main 3 at the moment, .223 AI might go down the road when the 22 Creed is finished. Largest game I'll ever see is Elk. Works for me in the East, but then again, so would many other options.

223 1:8 twist
6.5 CM
30-06

Probably not much the ‘06 will do over the 6.5CM, except throw heavier bullets.

I’ve got a 243 stuck in middle. Thought about replacing it with a 6CM, but eh.....why bother.
