1/4 at 100 should be very meaningful at 600, I don’t get it.

Shooting 1/4 moa group at 100 yards doesn't mean you will shoot 1/4 moa at 600, which would be 1-1/2" groups. If 100 yard groups meant anything of substance at distance, the F Class guys shooing .1 and .2 would be setting world records at 1,000 every weekend. If you want to brag about 100 yard groups, fine, but go shoot 10-20 shots at 600 show us those 1-1/2" groups.

It's not to brag. I bought a sub moa rifle so I want sub moa accuracy. Why buy sub moa rifles if u don't want sub moa accuracy?

Maybe there is a you tube video that will explain it?

What's this obsession with 180s and 600 yards? Just staying with the times?

I run 150s for WT deer and never have a problem.
150 don't group good in my gun it was 2.3 inch 3 shots groups at 100 yards and there is a BC difference. So the reason I don't run 150s is my sub moa rifle was not sub moa so therefore it would be stupid not to shoot the 180s. If I didn't care about accuracy I would get a musket. Even Ron spomer and Joseph said that that the 30-06 had a ballistic advantage over 308 because of its longer case neck and more powder capacity so it would be able to throw those 180s a whole lot faster. Imo I would have a 308 if I was going to shoot 150s cheaper ammo for the 308 very close ballistics to a 06 with 150s.

Idk if this is true but I've been told that the eldx bullet is bad to act like a fmj. What's been ur experience.

I’ve had great experiences with the 178 ELDX in my 30-06, taking several whitetail, pigs, and a stag. Furthest shot was 250 on the stag. I did not have a penciling issue. I have also used the 143 ELDX in a Creedmoor and PRC to take an axis deer, caribou, and plenty of whitetail. No issues there either.

My experience with ELDX is putting it center-body just behind the leg. Avoid steep quartering angles. Avoid the shoulder bone but scapula ok. Sometimes you get an exit, sometimes you don’t.

ELDX is just an updated cup and core bullet. It functions similarly to the core-lokt. Probably closer to the tipped core-lokt.

IMHO, the most important thing to know about any hunting bullet, cup & core, bonded, or monometal, is the impact window. Stay in that window and the bullet is likely to preform as designed.

Good luck following spomer - he’s an idiot. And the youtube crowd.

3006 pushes 165 and heavier a lil faster than 308 cause of case volume. More powder usually equals more speed but who knows?

Enjoy your journey. 600 yds w 180 grs 30-06 for wt deer. You need to video this - folks will watch. You would.

You are a smartmouth. That attitude is gonna cost you other people’s experience that actually matters not the chatter bs online you are swallowing.

If spomer such a idiot why is he in the nosler reloading guide? Same for Joseph? Besides that why shoot something that is not accurate in your gun? It makes no sense.

A 180gr core lokt out of an 06’ will sure enough wreckkkk any deer or hog out there.
If you want to try a different factory load I’d see how the 180gr nosler ballistic tips do..
If you reload. 175gr TMK’s would be great

In every 30-06 I’ve loaded for ballistic tips and the accubonds have been absolutely dead solid form an accuracy standpoint.

You ask for advice and then argue w the advice. You already know it all. If you did you wouldnt ask.

Ron Spomer. LoL!
He is a paid voice. Most of those “writer and youtube guys” are. Click here for more info…(x).

Again, good luck. You already know it all but are on here asking for some reason.
