Best 15 Degree bag out there?

I just used the kuiu 15 degree bag on a hunt. I thought it was perfect. Overnight temps were in the upper 30’s. I slept in underwear and a lightweight wool t-shirt. Never fully zipped the bag. I’m a side sleeper and I had enough room to wiggle around to my side no problem.

I’ve used my SG Chilkoot 15 degree bag on several southeast Alaska backpack hunts, I’ve been impressed. Even had to sleep myself dry in it about 4 times and it did it, so I can’t complain.

Not saying that it is the best out there, but it has really saved my ass a few times.

I got my badger with extra stuffing. That thing is a magical cloud of fluffy down.

Can you send a bag in to have more fill added? I thought I heard or read that somewhere. My Badger gets here tomorrow. I have a Versalite but I'm too broad for it so my kid and wife and use it. Also wanted the wind stopper shell for more durability so I can use it for glassing during the day.

Here to say for the umpteenth time, Western Mountaineering. The Apache has been amazing so far, even when we had to pitch our floorless tent on a hillside and water came in underneath and it got wet. There's a youtube video out there (sorry, I don't remember what it's titled) of a guy testing just how cold a natural down sleeping bag gets when it gets wet. The synopsis was that it needs to get take on A LOT of water to be significantly effected. And when he did, it was uncomfortable but he was alright. So I have no qualms with squeezing my down bag deep into the gaps between other gear at the bottom of my pack.

The new REI magma 15 . Has more down than the older ones and comes in 9 sizes so you can get the one that works best for you. I have replaced a feathered friends with this bag in a wide size and really like it.
Sizing the bag is as important or, IMO more important when you get to a certain level of quality. If you buy a Western Mountaineering bag that's too big it will be colder than a "lesser" brand like marmot, REI, mountain hardware, etc. that is sized appropriately.

For me the Feathered friends Lark was to narrow of a fit in the shoulders. I had to keep my arms on top of my body to fit. The Magma in a medium wide size lets me sleep on my back with my arms beside my body, way more comfort. All that room only cost me 5 ounces more in my pack. FF bag is exceptional quality ,I just got the wrong one for me.
