Bought a new Bergara Wilderness Ridge that is having major accuracy issues in my opinion. Cannot get it to shoot better than 1.75-3” at 100yards. Shooting off sand bags and solid rest. Tally rings and leupold vx-5hd on it currently. Yesterday shot the group attached 3 shot with the hornady eldx.

Have tried the following:
Confirmed not the scope with shooting on another rifle.
Confirmed Bergara with another scope and same rings received same results of Grouping.
Have tried Bergara recommended ammunition still same grouping.
Have tried 5 different ammo brands ranging from 155-168 grains.
Have torqued all screws to specs.

After research I found some issues with over painting the areas where the action screws mount. I pulled stock off and looked at the areas. The paint on the areas seems excessive to where there doesn’t look like intimate contact or even pressure would be. You can see where the rear screw has pressure to me that is uneven based off the marking on the action bottom side vs the stock aluminum. What are some thoughts, anyone having issues like this? I have called Bergara and of course they said send it in but will be 5-6 weeks before I may see it back. They said to use some acetone on the areas as they have seen it help but acetone and the amount of paint on these areas would take heavy sanding in my opinion. I have emailed them these pictures yesterday but they were closing when I talked To them. Waiting on them to respond.

Both my boys have this rifle. It's shooting Pendelton 180 grain Berger VLD's and Federal 155 grain terminal ascent 0.5 MOA. I checked the stock, no excess paint. I torqued the action screws at 55 inch/lbs.

I was surprised it shot the Bergers as they recommend a 1/9 twist.

If you're certain the scope and mounts are good, I'd check bedding issues, clearance, free float, etc. Is barrel crown OK?

Has a muzzle break installed. I haven’t took that off and shot it. Barrel doesn’t catch a piece of paper when slid down it.

These have a 1/9.5 twist rate.

I bought the same rifle in 300WM and it had similar issues. I spent a lot of money on ammo and even an aftermarket stock before sending it back. They re worked it quite a bit.

Unfortunately I had to buy another rifle for my upcoming hunt (HMR in 6.5CM) but that one shot clover leafs out of the box.

It happens. Send it back and figure out how to borrow or buy another rifle for your hunt is my advice.

This is exactly where I am at. I have over $200 in ammo trying to trouble shoot it. Frankly, it shouldn’t be this difficult And it seems A fairly consistent issue with their rifles.
Did you get it back from them yet? How does it shoot and what did they do?

This was last year for me. It took several weeks like they said it would. Paperwork said they machined the muzzle brake, maybe the throat. Not too detailed but said it shot sub MOA.

No rifle tags for me this year so I've been working on muzzleloader and bow.
