So I am looking for any input or actual experience. I don’t reload so I’ll be stuck to factory loads for now. I am setting up my Tikka T3X in 6.5prc for my Colorado elk hunt. I have shot 143g ELDX, 147g ELDM, 156g elite hunter Berger, Federal 130g terminal ascents, 140g Nosler BT, 140g Berger, and a variety of copper.

It shot ELDM and Terminal Ascents around 2 inch 10 shot group, ELDX was around 1.75 inch 10 shot group, 156g Berger and all coppers are 3 inch plus.

The gun really likes the 140g and shoots sub 1inch 10 shot groups of both 140g Berger Elite hunter and 140g Nosler BT. Bergers averaged 2790fps with a BC of .606 and Noslers were 2840fps with a BC of .501.

I haven’t been able to pick up a box of Nosler 140g trophy or the 142g trophy long Range yet.

Top group is the Nosler 140g with 1 shot I pulled. Bottom group is Berger 140g

I’m a huge Nosler fan but their factory ammo shot like crap in 3 6.5 PRC’s I’ve had, a Christiansen, Bergara, and now a Terminus/Proof semi custom I built. The semi custom absolutely loves Norma ammo, give that a shot if you haven’t. Generally cheap.

I haven’t been able to get any of that yet. I’ll try to order a box of that and a box of Noslers trophy grade, either 140g or 142g. Just don’t wanna keep spending money if nothing is going to be drastically better than the 140g Berger since it’s accuracy is spot on.
