Berger 205-208-245

Sub'd.

I hear a lot of talk about the 215s. That's where I was planning on starting. With a 8 twist are you not shooting heavier?

What are your goals for a hunting bullet?

Not sure if you’re only interested in the 3 that you listed…
We have shot numerous bulls and bucks with 215s out of 300WMs.
We shoot 230s out of a Lazzeroni Warbird and elk do not like getting hit with that at all.
I do not have experience with the 245.
Bergers available lately has been much, much better than the last couple years. I would at least try the 215 and 230 and see how they shoot in your setup.

I dont have photos but the 208s work. One mule deer at 330 yards, quartering away entered ribs, recovered the jacket but core exited behind offside shoulder. Lungs turned to jelly, deer didn't take a step.
2nd mule deer I shot in the neck at about 80 yards facing me. Bullet stopped in the spine, dead. Small sample but I'd shoot them at anything in North America with confidence based on what I saw.

I use the 208’s out of a .300WM and .300WSM somewhere around 2950fps. They have been awesome on elk, Bear, and long range accuracy. I was suspicious of switching, but really like them. I am happy enough I went to Berger in other caliber.
