Berger 180 vld 7mm how fast is too fast?

Hello!

Currently running 195 berger @ 3130fps. Haven't been overly impressed with terminal. From research and friends I've been recommended switch to 180 hybrid.

A concern has been brought i maybe on upper end of too fast. Im Guessing I'll be 3200-3300fps after work up

1:9 twist

Any thoughts?
What is your 180 vld speed?

Wow, you are running those hard. I shot a few things with the 195 doing around 2925 muzzle velocity. I though they expanded pretty violently all the way out to around 600 yards.

We now shoot 180 scenars at around 2950 or so in case you wanted a second option to try besides the 180 vld. With those kind of velocities I'd wonder if the Berger Target bullets with harder jackets might be preferred? Interested in replies to your thread.

I would whole heartedly recommend the 180 Hybrid, they've been great on dozens of critters for me.

I'll have to look. It maybe the hybrids i have. Not sure why they why berger makes 2 bullets same weight and start with same letter lol

That was a mid range load that was accurate. H1000. Loaded up 169 hammers on starting load was 3330fps. Accurate so stayed there.
