Anyone else run into quality issues with Berger 156 EOL bullets? Got down to the last two bullets in the first box of 100 that I’ve used. The first bullet appears to have been mis-formed. The jacket has a large crease in it. I’d be afraid of this bullet flying apart the instant it left the barrel.

The second bullet wasn’t even the right caliber! To my amazement, I pulled out a 105 grain .243 bullet .

Just curious if anyone else has seen other issues like these. Stuff happens, I get it. But including a bullet of the wrong caliber seems like a big problem liability-wise for Berger.

I’ve had a few jackets with what seemed like little cracks in the jackets over the years, while I’ve never had a different cal bullet I swear there was a recall recently because a batch was mixed.

Thanks for the info guys! I checked through the other box I had of the same lot number and all looked good there!

Tdhanses- I now see the little etching lines you are talking about. Wondering if they’re some sort of relief for expansion?

Yeah I’m not sure but I’ve never had an issue with them so that is very possible.

I’m just loading up some 215s for a win mag and a bullet had no seating pressure. I pulled the case from the press and found that the bullet i just tried to seat wasn’t long enough to seat any bearing surface in the neck. I weighed it and I’ll be damned, 168 grains. I have never loaded 168 anything but barnes TTSX.

This is from a 250 ct box I’ve had for probably 3 years so it’s not a new issue. Would have never noticed if it would have seated like normal.
