Bergara versus Tikka

Those are the quirks that I see, and don’t see anything you said changing my mind about any of it. As was said earlier, my advice is someone should buy the receiver that gives them warm mushy feelings and put a good barrel on it. That doesn’t sound like I have a grudge against Tikka.

For me, that feeling was the Bergara. Then I spent hundreds on ammo and gunsmiths and fighting Bergara to fix their garbage which they never did.

I have since bought somewhere north of 7 tikkas drama free.

Tikka >Seekins>everyone else >Bregarbage/CA/Fierce

I just discovered that Tikka has come out with 22” threaded 7 PRC, 7 Mag, and 6.5 PRC. Weight not listed but Eurooptic says in stock. Anyone know more about this?

@mxgsfmdpx does.

Bergara wanted to be the "new" Tikka several years ago, but they just aren't. I've never modified a Tikka (695, T3, CTR, or T3X) in any way, ever, and they perform amazingly well in the field.

OP, I have the Bergara Sierra 20" you mentioned in 6.5 PRC and I absolutely love the way the factory stock sets up and fits me, great shooter and very happy with it. Fast forward to about a month ago and I shot my first Tikka, it's the Roughtech Superlite 20" in 6.5 CM. I'll probably never shoot the Bergara again. I know it sounds dramatic but it's really not that much, just a couple simple things for me. The Bergara comes in at 9 lbs 2 oz scoped and the Tikka comes in at 7 lbs 3 oz scoped and they both use the same suppressor so that's a wash. The calibers overlap so much that they're also a wash. Tikka shoots a little better groups for me straight out of the box with factory stock and all.
I'm sure you've already bought your rifle, OP, but since this got bumped I wanted to update this. I added a SRS Hunter's rail to the Tikka, added cheek riser, and upgraded the scope. Now it's pushing 8 lbs so now I'm having a serious conniption fit over which rifle to take this year. I really do like both of these rifles the same but there's still the 1 lb difference so probably stick with the Tikka. Both are incredibly fun to shoot and accurate.
