Bergara Owners: Omni Muzzle Brake and Accuracy

For the folks that shoot a Bergara that came with the Omni muzzle brake:

Do shoot with it on and how is the accuracy? I know radial brakes aren’t as effective at reducing recoil but I am more concerned about accuracy.

In general, Bergaras shoot great (thus their MOA guarantee). I agree not to overthink it, worst case scenario is you take it off and put on another/thread protector.

I did have one B14 that got sent back due to accuracy issues, but that seems to be an exception. My HMR is a laser beam.

Interesting grouping today with Hornady Match ammo 6.5 PRC. Sub MOA at 600 but right around MOA at 100. I can’t get a 5 shot group to go below MOA. I can get 3 shot groups around .4 MOA but there always is a flier. Could be me lol

I do handload but all my stuff is in storage till next week

I shot a couple of shots with ours and then put an APA Little bastard on. I hate the radial brakes because they kick up so much dust! The APA reduced the recoil better so I just stuck with that. The accuracy didnt change between the two.

Jumping on this thread. I’ve got a Bergara on the way. Comes with the brake on. It will be a hunting rifle. Anyone have dirt/ dust be a problem in a hunting scenario due to the Omni brake? Or any radial for that matter?

Radial brakes are fine in all shooting positions except prone. I can't remember the last time I shot prone hunting.

My wilderness ridge in 300wm was fine. Shot 1/4moa 5-shot groups at 100 yards with factory Sierra ammo.. makes me think the brake doesn’t matter.

I only depend on a brake to reduce the felt recoil. That might lend to me being more precise, but not the gun.

I ended up shooting the Wilderness HMR without the brake. Stock weight absorbs the recoil and the 6.5 PRC doesnt kick much.
