I have an opportunity to purchase a Bergara rifle. I see they have quickly gained a lot of attention and what seems to be a good reputation for build quality and accuracy. The options I have are both in .300 Win Mag, one is the Ridge Carbon and the other is the Premier Mountain 2.0. The Ridge Carbon version is brand new about $1200. The Premier is lightly used with less than 50 round through it and includes a Sig Sauer scope for $950. The carbon barrel is appealing but the price on the premier with a scope may be a deal I shouldn't pass up. Use will be mule deer and elk. Light carrying from time to time, so weight isn't much concern and close on both. Thoughts/Recommendations from the Bergara experienced crowd?

I’ve been around about a dozen Bergara over the past 2/3 years and they have all been shooters. From little 22-250 to 30 cal magnums. One barrel did take a couple extra boxes to really start shooting good. I just chalked that up to a rough chamber job more than anything else. I’d lean towards the premier because it sounds like an awesome deal. Not really a big difference between the two rifles as far as the nuts and bolts side of things go. Both have a more “traditional” spotter stalk. It would be cool to see some groups that the current owner has shot out of the gun as is though.
