Recently purchased a brand new Beretta 686 SP1.

I noticed the chrome lining under the chokes had what looked like a flaw or maybe even corrosion.

Emailed Beretta, they say send it back. They have it for a month and it comes back with a note that said it was debris and they cleaned it up.

I still see what looks like pitting or corrosion
Am I being picky here or is this something that’s common among these guns during the chrome lining process ? Any one with a 686 seen this before ?

For reference, the top image was before the “Polish” at Beretta and the bottom is after where you can still see the issue

Never seen that before, but the chrome lining process explains it I think. At first glance before reading all your text, I immediately thought it looked like a cleaned up rust spot/erosion.

Looks like they cleaned it up okay and being outside of a choke tube is good. I personally wouldn't worry about it. Go shoot that sucka..
