I used to work at a steel mill and we would routinely melt guns for local, state, and federal law enforcement. I can attest that there were probably 1% that I felt bad about. The remainder was falling apart junk. Local sheriff's dept melted theirs but said several in the area took the serviceable ones and auctioned them.

We got to know the guys pretty well after several years and they would let us go through the piles just to look at them. Amazing some of the pos guns that are out there.

As an aside, we also burned/melted documents and firearms from the Murrah federal building bombing. That was a somber day.

As far as Benchmade goes, I don't have any so don't really have a say there. I typically don't get too much into the political affiliation of owners. I know they are employing US folks and building USA made product.

I don't get the outrage over this. I don't care if people turn in their guns to have them destroyed. I saw a video of a guy grind his benchmade down to a stub like he was making a point. These are the same people who blew up their Keurig and Yeti.

Call me when they start destroying guns that were confiscated from their rightful owners.

I guess I don’t have an issue with this, wonder if the owner of benchmade would donate to the demos if the London mayor was in charge, remember he outlawed knives. I’m all for companies helping out local PD’s and have no problem destroying illegal weapons etc or weapons the owners want to have destroyed, their choice.

Now I think benchmade knives are over priced so I won’t buy one but that’s no because of this.

I think it’s kind of funny that all the woke, pro-nuance, outraged-by-the-outrage types are somehow at a loss as to why some might feel uneasy about something like this. Kind of obtuse and insular, if you ask me. But no one did...so carry on...

i for one am outraged at the lack of outrage over whatever it is we're supposed to be outraged over this week.

Someone needs to start a list of the who is on the sh-t list. And who you can buy from and what not.

Let's see, no Sitka, no Yetti, no Benchmade, you get the idea.

Feel free to be offended and make EVERYTHING politcal.

Carry on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There are some times when push-back is warranted. Benchmade, et al, use your money for political action. They are making things political as much as any consumer. Don’t forget this fact.

Outrage of the day. Now we need a meme. Then our day will be complete and we can feel like we helped the cause.

Blah blah blah, they are just destroying guns taken from bad people.
Prove any of that. How do you know none of them are red flag law confiscations?

Everyone is looking to be upset, offended, or outraged it seems.

If anybody’s looking to destroy their benchmade or can’t even stand to look at them anymore PM me and I will give you my address so they can be properly disposed of.
