If both knives are s30v, which would you go with and why? Really liking the look of the steep country.

Bench made. Free sharpening for life.

I love Buck and Benchmade. You won't go wrong with either. I would recommend the Benchmade because I feel they do a better job with the heat treatment of that steel. I carry an S30V buck 110 every single day.

Only have experience with the benchmade. I really like that knife. I just processed two deer with it and it is still sharp. Just feels good in the hand. Also free sharpening is nice. Have yet to use it though

I have both....the Vanguard I had for many years....yep, I'm a knife junky.

As you go up in steel quality you notice the edge holding ability...the S30v is better and is still easy to sharpen.

I have the S90V Altitude- wow.

Now if you want to jump to the next level of edge holding; S90v, Elmax, Maximet and S110V are crazy tough....but harder to sharpen. You have to have a diamond system with these.
