Anybody here put some miles on a set of these? I've read that they are actually better then the Danner combat hikers?

I'm interested in hearing about these too, i have been using another pair of bellevilles these last couple of seasons and they have been great, got them at the military surplus store for a great price. Ill have to check the model number when i get home, they have been really comfortable but have lost their 'waterproofness' recently so its time for upgrade.

old post i know, but has anyone tried these hunting? I really liked the danner combat hikers and just wondering how these pan out.

I have the Bates version I got off Amazon for $100. Like most boots made in the US for military they run about 1/2 size large. I normally wear a 13, and bought a 12.5 in these. They fit well and are well made. The negatives for me ....the lacing system that locks is kind of a pain. They seem to be lacking much cushing in tne ball of the feet. Its not the footbeds, as i wear tbe same custom orthodics in all my shoes. I have had a similar problem in other military isse boots. Im going to put a few more miles on tbem before I decide if they will work. As yiu know everyones feet are differnt. I hope this is some help to ypu

most GI boots usually run a 1/2 size small. I wear 10 in street shoes and most belleville, wellco, McRea, etc i'm a 9.5 but in these I wear a 9. My unit deployed and I snagged up all the boots my soldiers didn't want. I have a few of the GTX laying around. If anyone's interested I got a pair in 10.5, 10, and 9W and a pair of the Hot weather boots in 10.5 just laying around... if no ones interested i'll throw them on Ebay. Never used them hunting but they worked well in eastern A stan with 70+ lbs.
