Sure. They will bed wherever. Just depends on slope direction, feed, cover, pressure, thermals, etc

Yep all the time. Just takes a few big rocks or the right slope to get them out of the sun. Where I live its about 99% burned and the elk don't seem to mind

As the other folks replied, yes they will. Benches are where I seem to find bedding areas a lot, and they will still use it even after a fire.

I have found elk prefer burned areas especially if they are relatively fresh burns. There is a big flush of feed that comes after a burn.
