Provoke them to stand up or waitMy old man taught me not to shoot until they stand up. I have seen a few bad hits on bedded animals that only confirm that approach for me. Patience.
I’ll shoot one bedded, but wait if you want them to stand. You throw a rock or whistle and they get up on alert, more likely to jump the string. Also more likely to smell you while you wait a few hrs. They don’t jump the string when they are bedded….Provoke them to stand up or wait
Agree, I am willing to shoot a bedded critter, but I have never had one bedded with an angle I was willing to shoot. I have had to wait them out plenty of times, some successful, and some not.Archery is all about the angle, either you have one that will kill them or you need to wait until you do.
