Yes, all great advice and appreciated. I am new here and just started shooting a compound ( Hoyt ) last year...matter of fact I got to meet Slimjim at Pacific Archery last year getting my bow worked on. My cousin who owns an archery shop in Niagara Falls NY, told me about a drill he does which has helped me in the short time I've been training....The self imagry suggested earliar is a great way to training for anything from sports to speaking, meetings, etc...On my target I place a strip of Duct Tape across the middle from one side to the other. I shoot with the tape horizontal and only focus on the horizontal hold which relieves me of worrying/thinking about the vertical hold. I use this technique to set my pins. It has helped lowering the expectation and frustration of "chasing" the shot. You all have helped me so much with all this advice as well. I just got my Early Archery Tag for units 071/061. Aug 16 to 31st above Elko and east of Jarbige. I also got my early Mule Deer tag for early season as well for the Rubies but I think I might turn that one in to focus on the Big Boy.
