I think this is exactly what at least half these fanboys do, exclusively hunt units with cell reception, spend the whole day on instagram posting stories and hashtagging filtered posts, don't kill a damn thing then spend the evening back at camp doing model walks for each other by the fire in their new gear, as the sun starts to go down of course because they were scared to walk out in the dark...then go to the coffee shop on Monday with their designer woodsman hat to be seen typing up their blog about how hunting is about so much more to them than just a kill to cover up their poor bush skills.![]()
I like you.....a lot.
I held off on buying any high end hunting clothes for a long time because I didn't want to be mistaken for any of these guys lol. I hunt solo so no catwalks for me, still waiting for those stray hot women to stroll through any one of these trips! I actually did have a curious granola cruncher stray over one night when I was camped in the front country, she had seen me with my bow earlier and let had me know she wasn't impressed at all. Guess curiosity killed the cat because she came over to my campfire later wondering what I was planning to do if I shot a bear out there, just take the head and leave? Good opportunity to explain meat salvage requirements, regulations regarding hunting and the conservation side of things as well. I wasn't far back out there enough for her to start looking good enough to share the tent with so I just gave her some food for thought and went back to my noodles.

That made me laugh pretty good. I actually just bought my very first pieces of Sitka gear in early December. I just couldn't ever justify needing hunting clothes that cost that much. I'm not going to lie.....I do love them. Especially my base layers. I still think the price is crazy, but I guess I'm hooked now. I'm about to drop $500+ on a backpack with a Rhino on it. As I was reading your encounter with the granola girl, I was hoping she was hot and your story was going to turn into something from Penthouse Forum. Too bad....... If I ever have a hot one come rolling thru camp, she will leave a changed woman. I will most likely need a round of antibiotics afterwards, but hey.....you only live once.

I think I've been to a coffee shop once in my life
