Doing a trip in early mid Aug to Colorado and need a new tent.

I've narrowed it down between the copper spur, marmot tungsten ul, nemo, msr etc. All simular designs.

I've always liked the design of the copper spur and marmot the best.

Weight being somewhat in the same area with a footprint what would you folks do?

Latest the tent would get used is mid Sept. Most use between April and the first of Sept.

Ease of setup, general use, durability are important. It'll just be me and a pack. But I'm looking at 2p size units.

My trusty Ozark trail is just a tad heavy and I can park a small car inside of it.

Both good brands. That said, I have and love my Copper Spur UL2. But I rock a Marmot Helium bag.

My son and I used a copper spur ul3 last archery elk season. 2 doors n each had a vestibule. Great compromise in weight and function. I am happy to carry a couple extra oz for the ease of setup and function/space.

Have you considered the BA Tiger Wall 2P.

It weighs in at 2lb - 3oz. I used one last year, easy set up etc.

Looks like it may be about 1sq ft less room though.

I looked at it, but I just like the room in the copper spur. This trip isn't one of those every once counts trip, but still looking for a quality unit.

Just gotta decide if the ul3 is worth the extra weight when it'll only be me

Well, I sold a CS UL2, and a CS UL3 and now am stuck with only my CS UL4........solo or otherwise. I would get the UL3 if there's even a slight chance that you'll ever have another person with you.

Up to you but I would go with a copper spur 3 when there are 2 of you and something else when just you. Seems to me like you are going to be wanting a little more room when there are 2 of you and a little more than you need when just you. I think the 2 would be great if not to worried about weight or had a dog or maybe kid with you that didnt take up to much room.

Ive ran a copper spur ul2 mntglow for 3 years and over 100 days easily.. still holding up rather well. Im probably going to pick up a tiger wall ul3 mtnglow though this year. There has been times during both summer and fall especially where i really wanted extra space for my gear etc. I use it solo and will for the same weight as my current copper spur, i think the tiger wall 3 will be a great tent.
