Based for the Eastern WA what is the best way of storing food away from animals?

I usually do the "PCT" hang method. (google it). prevents bear from being able to break the tie off point if they were smart enough..

I do what Andrew Skurka does and sleep with it extremely close to me. Hundreds of nights in the back country. Only problem I ever had was when I used to hang it, one time a bird pecked it's way in.
