Bear skull display suggestions

I currently have mine sitting on a tree cut from our property but in the near future it is getting a new base with a new cut of wood for sentimental reasons.

The new cut of wood is from a tree that my Grandfather hunted by for decades before he passed away 20 years ago. It was a landmark on the property and we affectionately called it “Pops Funny Tree” due to its unique shape. The bear I shot, the first and only one taken by our group in almost 50 years, was kicked out by my Dad on a drive and ran past that tree moments before I shot it.

Last year, the same week my Grandmother passed away, we found out that old tree had passed as well and fallen to the ground. We decided to take some cuts off the tree to use for decorating our cabin with tributes to my Grandfather as well as the cut to place the bear skull on. Once it dries some more I plan on sanding and finishing it.

A fitting tribute!

I keep mine simple. Just articulated closed on my desk. Don't like the idea of having to glue or epoxy them to keep them open.
