A buddy just killed a great bear in BC and chose to get the rug and skull done there. It ended up being $2700 bucks. Is that normal? My wife and I are going with him next year so I’m trying to figure out what I’m biting off here. I’d rather freeze and ship my skin and skull home to be done here if it can be done for half that.

What are y’all seeing for pricing?

Was he quoted in canadian $? Doesn't seem super off but in the higher end. I have always opted to bring all hides / horns home to be mounted.

Had this done plus the skull this past year from a guy in Iowa. Total was around $1600. It’s my first rug and I feel like he did a good job.

We dont know how many feet it is so its difficult to say.

Thats about 1950 USD.

Thats a pretty reasonable price if its for 6 feet. If its for 7 feet that seems like a great deal. If its for 8 feet its way too cheap and I would be hesitant.

The prices I was quoted for a rug and a 1/2 life size were pretty comparable. Based on a 6' bear (I think mine was a bit over that) a rug was right under $2,200 with an open mouth and a 1/2 mount was $2,200 for a closed mouth. I ended up going with the 1/2 mount as I had a rug done with a previous bear.
