Bear in April

Hey all! I’ve got a boat based bear hunt out of Homer booked for the last week of April. Excited but concerned I’ll be too early. For all of you Alaskans/folks with experience, have you seen many bears active during that time? Am I too early? Any feedback welcome!

You may see some bears, but yes that is early.

And BTW, Homer is not part of Southeast Alaska.
