Basic M700 Trigger Recommendation

I was given an old (1980's) M700 that I plan to keep solely to hand down to my children when they are old enough to take care of a blued gun with a wood stock. I really doubt it will get shot much in the coming decades.

The only thing I am definitely changing is the old Walker trigger. Since it is mostly a "collection" gun now, I want to drop in a basic trigger that is safe and functional. I don't want to pass down a rifle with a potentially dangerous trigger.

That's it.

A 3# walker with proper sear engagement is pretty much the equal of 99% of the customs.

For a complete "can't make it happen on accident " safety, the gentry 3 position is a viable answer.

Unfortunately, the floating connector in the walker design cannot really be remedied. They work right up until they don't, and as the user you have no way to know when that will be until after it happens.
